Which Package Is Right For You?

If you're just starting out as a broadcaster, you may want to choose one of our smaller packages (Intro/P1/P2/P3). With these packages, you'll be able to reach a small number of simultaneous listeners while you learn to manage your station and get comfortable with having an audience. However, if you've already got a medium-to-large audience or expect to quickly acquire one, you may be interested in one of our larger packages (P4/P5/P6) for the serious personal broadcaster.

    Ask yourself the following:
    1) How many listeners do you expect to have listening at the same time (simultaneous listeners)?
    2) How will you broadcast? Will your broadcast be...
      - Tracks in a fixed playlist? If so, you'll be using our Basic mode.
      - Happening in real time as you create it? If so, you'll be using our Live mode.
      - A rebroadcast of your existing audio stream? If so, you'll be using our Relay mode.

And don't worry - you're never locked into a specific package. As your audience grows and your broadcast evolves, you can adjust your package as needed.
    Royalties Included

It is completely legal to create, broadcast and listen to Live365 stations. All broadcasting stations adhere to rules set forth in the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (the "DMCA"). Live365 broadcasters are required to agree to and abide by these rules upon starting a station. Live365 also has licenses with the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers ("ASCAP"), Broadcast Music, Inc. ("BMI") and The Society of European Stage Authors and Composers ("SESAC"). These licenses allow broadcasters to stream licensed music on their stations.

Live365 is a member of the Digital Media Association (DiMA), the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), the Association for Independent Music (AFIM), the Intercollegiate Broadcasting System (IBS), and Collegiate Broadcasters, Inc. (CBI). Based in Foster City, California, Live365 pays royalties to labels, artists, songwriters and publishers.
    Revenue Share - Broadcaster Rewards

Live365 shares $$ with broadcasters through our Rewards Program. The revenues we share are generated by listeners who purchase VIP Memberships. There are two kinds of rewards:

    One-Time Bounties
A broadcaster is awarded a one-time 25% commission on the initial sale when a listener subscribes to VIP in order to gain access to -- or show support for -- the broadcaster's station.

For example, if you sell a 12-month VIP package for $71.40, you will be credited $17.85 on your billing account. You earn VIP Bounties for all sales from the green buy buttons on your Station and Profile pages. You can also grab a VIP Bounty button/graphic from your broadcast admin page and place it anywhere online. For most broadcasters just a handful of VIP sales will cover your monthly broadcasting fees!

    Our Subscription Share Program
Subscription Share pays Rewards based on the amount of time VIP Members spend listening to a broadcaster's station in a given month.

More VIP Members listening to a station = higher rewards!
    Disk Space

If you'd like to increase your MP3 Online Library, you can upgrade to a higher package and get additional MB for more tracks.

100MB of storage space gives you:
      - About 1.5 hours of audio encoded at 128kbps
      - About 3 hours of audio encoded at 64kbps
      - About 7 hours of audio encoded at 32kbps
Max Listening Hours Per Month (Non-VIP)

Max Listening Hours per month is for comparison purposes only. It is not an imposed listening hour maximum but is based on each package's maximum simultaneous listeners.

It is calculated by multiplying the maximum basic mode simultaneous listeners by 24 hours per day by 31 days per month (Max SL x 24 hrs x 31 days)

VIP listeners do not count towards your maximum simultaneous listeners. In practice your broadcast could have much higher maximum listening hours depending on the amount of VIP listeners you have.
    Max Simultaneous Listeners (SL)

Each broadcasting package outlines a number of max simultaneous listeners. This refers to the number of NON-VIP listeners who can tune in to your station at the same time. In other words, it is the number of free listeners who can tune in concurrently.

VIP listeners can listen to all stations, at any time, regardless of whether a station has reached its simultaneous listener max or not.

If a listener tries to tune in, and your station is at its max, that listener will be able to become a VIP, or choose another station that has not yet reached its max. Your simultaneous listener count will vary throughout the day, but typically peaks between 9AM-noon Pacific. You may add or reduce your station's capacity for simultaneous listeners at any time by ordering a different broadcasting package.
    Listeners and Broadcast Modes

    Basic Listeners
Listeners to a station in Basic Mode. In Basic Broadcasting Mode, all server space and bandwidth are provided by Live365. Use our free Studio365 software or web interface to manage and broadcast from the Live365 servers 24/7.

    Live/Relay Listeners
Listeners to a station in Live/Relay Mode. In Live Mode, all mp3s reside on the broadcaster's computer but listeners' bandwidth is still provided by Live365. Live mode allows broadcasters to change their playlist on the fly, add live voice between tracks from a microphone, host talk shows and broadcast live performances from a sound board or computer via Studio365-Live or any Live365 or Shoutcast enabled encoder. In Relay Mode, a broadcaster has a Shoutcast compatible streaming mp3 broadcast hosted by a non-Live365 server. The relayed stream is re-routed through Live365 servers to listeners using Live365 provided bandwidth.

    VIP Listeners
VIP listeners can listen to all stations, at any time, regardless of whether a station has reached its simultaneous listener max or not.
